Body Mind Balance

Are you Stressed?  Need more Energy?  In Pain?  Feel Discouraged because even with all of the things you know to do to feel more relaxed, you still don't have that sense of "I feel great" you desire?

Do you have poor posture, or just want to do things without discomfort and be more graceful?

Are you a musician who is always hurting, a singer who is always out of breath?

Are you a corporate speaker who hates to speak and does whatever it takes NOT to be in the lime light?

I am Diane Young , a Nationally Certified Teacher of the Alexander Technique in Philadelphia, and Alexander Technique for Musicians Philadelphia.  I have been teaching this gentle but profound method for reducing unnecessary tension (that which contributes to back, neck, and shoulder pain, poor posture, poor balance and other kinds of problems in the body) since 1987.

After taking lessons with me:

People tell me that they feel lighter, that their chronic pain has lessened, that their posture has improved, and that they feel less stressed and overwhelmed by things!

Today, I combine my Alexander expertise (Nationally Certified Teacher, M.AmSAT)
with other powerful skills I have acquired in related modalities, to bring you to a higher level of efficiency in your movement, and feeling better in your own body.

What people have said about Diane:

"Diane Young is a gifted and generous teacher.  Diane has truly changed my life for the better: through the Alexander Technique she has helped me replace the patterns that were causing constant pain with an empowering ability to move through the world with control and ease.  Diane's instruction and the Alexander Technique have become important tools for living a healthy, happy and painless life."
Thaler Pekar, Entrepreneur

"When my Doctor recommended the Alexander Technique for headaches, I picked Diane Young from a long list of providers, in part because her office was conveniently located.  What a fortuitous choice!  Diane's extensive knowledge, lovely manner and healing touch have had a positive and long-lasting impact on my health and well-being.  An intuitive and gifted teacher, Diane imparts her wisdom while also helping clients incorporate the lessons into their own self care routines for a holistic and refreshingly practical approach."
Mara Bragg, Publishing

"Diane is a phenomenal teacher.  She connected immediately to the way I was moving and identified habits that had caused me ongoing difficulty and pain.  Working with her changed my posture and the way I move."
Katie Gentile, Director of Graduate Studies, John Jay University

"Diane is an extremely effective Alexander Technique instructor.  She always comes up with different ways of approaching and understanding the concepts so that I was able to have a well rounded and complete understanding of the Technique.  She is also very good at linking the physical applications of the Technique with the emotional and spiritual, helping me to truly experience Alexander as a "technique for life".

The technique offers a gentle healing touch which informs the student about a better ease they can find in their movement choices, how to sit, stand, move and coordinate their bodies.

Plan to feel better!

Problems such as lower back pain are unfortunately all too common today.  Many chronic pain problems result from habitual misuse of the body, and when the body hurts, we tend to do all kinds of things to mask it, like eating too much, feeling badly about ourselves, slumping. If a better co-ordination is restored, back pain is decreased and the ability to feel and look
better is restored, and a new outlook is possible. My services differ from many traditional  treatments. I provide my clients with tools for better body/mind balance and better energy management, which results in long-term improvements in body use, mental attitude, and spiritual well being,  and so revealing the TRUE YOU with a new lease on life!!
